Fredy Schaffner, Anwil, Switzerland, born 1956, teacher and for 35 years pilot and airline captain at Swissair, later Swiss. Now retired. Married, father of two adult children.
Hobbies and passions beside the painting: Gliderpilot, geography and mountains, travelling, culture and cultural history.
Artistic work: In younger years I mainly focussed on water-colour and block-print. I decided to reactivate my creative side in 2008. Since then I mainly concentrate on painting with oil, acrylic and watercolors. Mountains and landscapes are in the center of my artistic work.
Since 2008 I have been showing my work at several exhibitions all over Switzerland. In 2012 I have been accepted as a member of the Guild of Swiss Mountain Painters. This is both an honour for me personally and a recognition of my work as a mountain painter.
I paint out of passion for air, light, landscape.
